Belimarius

This creature's description may contain spoilers. Click to revealRunelord Belimarius seeks something that’s been denied to her for over 10,000 years—mythic power. If the PCs don’t confront her soon enough in Sorshen’s Eye of Desire during this adventure, she’ll finally gain this power, yet it’s only a fragment of what she might wield, given time. If she survives her encounter with the PCs, Belimarius retreats to her palace in the city of Xin-Edasseril to the west, and in time, she might develop into a truly mythic threat of her own... yet it’s far more likely that her encounter with the heroes in this adventure will be the moment her luck finally runs out. While this adventure assumes Belimarius makes her last stand in Chapter 1, it’s possible she escapes. If she does, see Beyond the Campaign on page 64 for what might come next for the most tenacious of the seven runelords!

With a quick motion, Belimarius crushes the mostly depleted warshard she holds in her hand, destroying it and causing red rain to cascade down around her in a 120-foot emanation (which easily fills the entirety of the Eye of Desire). Allies in this area (Belimarius and her two knights of malice) become quickened for 1 minute but can use the extra action only to Strike with a melee weapon. Foes in the area (including the PCs) must attempt a DC 22 Will save.
