Universe, the First World influences the Universe that followed its creation. When the planar energies of the First World exist within a person, it can sometimes transform them into a fadrim, a creature of mutability, primal potential, and sometimes chaos, much like the First World itself.
A creature of any ancestry can become a fadrim, but the birth or creation of a fadrim is most common in places where the planar boundary to the First World is thin. Sometimes, a creature with a fey gift in their lineage can be born as a fadrim. It's also not uncommon for a person to strike a bargain with a powerful fey and eventually have a fadrim child. Ancestries that have a more direct connection to nature, such as elves, gnomes, and leshies, are particularly likely to have fadrims among their populace.
While they're feylike in many ways, fadrims are ultimately distinct from the natives of the First World. All fadrims resemble members of their ancestry, albeit with one or two distinctly fantastical features. This might be an exceedingly saturated hair color, unique eye colors, hauntingly beautiful faces, uniquely shaped pupils or ears, or even a faint radiance of color or sparkles. An observer generally recognizes a fadrim as a member of their respective ancestry but tends to have an odd feeling that something is off or perhaps enhanced about the individual. Fey often have varying opinions of fadrims. A fair number see them as kin, while many instead consider them pretenders to the honor of a true fey and even treat them as enemies. Regardless of their feelings on a given fadrim, all fey admit that fadrims aren't “true” fey and will never hesitate to remind a fadrim of the fact, even if done so in a more friendly manner.
