PFS StandardNg (The Hooded)

Source Feybound pg. 185
It is said there's nowhere within the vast Universe where Ng has not lain his stately tread. Yet beyond such parochiality, the Hooded knows there's infinity nestled upon infinity of unknown spaces and unmapped places yet to be graced by his argent shadow. Ng traverses these trackless expansesand endless shores with solemn intention, neither for the joy of discovery nor for the dividends of exploitation which are swift to follow. Ng cares little for such paltry fulfillments, and enacts his journey for more abstruse and worthier purposes that few can grasp.

So say his disparate devotees, who secretly wish (yet never openly proclaim) to number among these enlightened few. They rarely dispute those uninitiated who claim Ng's travels as aimless, but take umbrage at suggestions that they're purposeless. They expound that the Hooded not only sets paths in motion but also establishes entirely new destinations into existence. Through his intractable and inscrutable journey, Ng both defines and transgresses what's knowable and known. From the limited perspectives of lesser fey and mortals, origin and destination are two distinct concepts and phenomena, but to near-omnipresent, nigh-omniscient Ng, the two might not be so different after all.

Yet these are just the fanciful and frenzied scrawls of scholars and supplicants, and not at all what Ng says about himself. Such teachings might not displease Ng, for their adherents enjoy his favor just as much as those who observe more traditional obediences like the constant wearing of veils or gloves. Perhaps these theories earn his favor for being far from the facts, yet close to the truth. Or perhaps the Hooded's apparent favor is just another crease in the cloth, a shadow appearing solid in the half-light; a misdirection that circumambulates and yet expresses his ineffable essence. After all, Ng presides not only over journeys but secrets as well.

Ng also guides the passage of seasons big and small and measures the steady rhythm of equinoxes. Be it the four climes familiar to temperate regions, the monsoons and droughts of tropical ones, or more esoteric solstices, Ng holds his silver-robed reign and blesses those who respect the propriety and sanctity of the passing of time. Those who venerate Ng in this aspect might do so for practical reasons, worshipping him as one who eases harvests and trade winds and helps prepare for profit or privation. More intellectual votaries admire Ng for his cadence— stable yet dynamic—of putting all things in their place, as well as moving all things apace. Obscure mystics seek Ng's sacred influence in the trappings of the seasons: sprigs of holly and mistletoe, the darkness of the winter solstice, or the bonfires of midsummer.
