Description Ominous storm clouds gather overhead, pulsating with flashes of blue-white lightning.
Disable DC 23 Religion (trained) to petition Gozreh for safe passage or 28 Arcana, Nature, or Occultism (expert) to disperse the storm’s magical energies. A PC whose voice is exceptionally loud (such as using the bullhorn cantrip) can also attempt to Disable this hazard with a DC 25 Diplomacy check to convince the Gozren priests that they mean no harm; the priests make a second prayer to dissipate the hazard on the following round, though they’re unable to stop the sargassum heaps.
Thunderclap [reaction] (divine, sonic) Trigger A creature not designated by Katlanthe approaches within 10 feet of the circle of stone columns; Effect The storm clouds release a boom of thunder. Creatures atop the plateau take 2d10+9 sonic damage (DC 26 basic Fortitude save). On a critical failure, the creature is also deafened for 1d4 rounds. The hazard rolls initiative.
Routine (1 action) (divine, electricity) A bolt of lightning strikes a 10-foot burst atop the plateau of the GM’s choosing. Creatures in the area take 2d10+9 electricity damage (DC 28 Reflex save). On a critical failure, the creature is also stunned 1. Creatures designated by Katlanthe within the area are infused with divine energy for 1 round. They gain the electricity trait and immunity to electricity damage, and all their attacks deal an additional 1d6 electricity damage.
Reset The storm clouds disperse once no creature other than those designated by Katlanthe are atop the plateau.
