Description A relentless storm assails the ship, battering those on board who don’t secure themselves.
Disable DC 29 Athletics, Crafting, or Sailing Lore to securely lash one’s self to the ship. Creatures tied to the ship are immune to the hazard’s routine but are immobilized.
Storm Surge [free-action] Trigger The storm builds for at least 10 minutes; Effect The ship pitches dangerously atop the waves. The hazard rolls initiative and performs its routine as a free action.
Routine (1 action) The storm tosses the ship in a random direction (roll 1d8 to determine). All creatures on the ship that aren’t lashed to it are moved 10 feet in that direction and must attempt a DC 30 Reflex save or Sailing Lore check as the waves pummel them.
Critical Success The creature takes no damage and can avoid being moved 10 feet if it wishes.
Success The creature takes no damage.
Failure The creature is off-guard and takes 1d12+15 bludgeoning damage.
Critical Failure The creature is prone and takes 2d12+15 bludgeoning damage.
