Nightmare FeastHazard 15

Rare Complex Nightmare
Source Pathfinder #220: Crypt of Runes pg. 78
Complexity Complex
Stealth +30 (master)
Description The consumption of sentient, and even sapient creatures is widespread in Leng. Those who suffer such fates are as much the genesis of this nightmare as those who partake, and as such, this nightmare tends to manifest in places where meals were taken, from banquet halls to campsites.
Disable DC 43 Society (master) to fight these destructive urges by focusing your thoughts on traditions not so steeped in cruelty, or DC 40 Intimidation (legendary) to overwhelm the nightmare’s influence with the strength of your own personality; three successes are required to disable the nightmare
Invisible Feasters [reaction] (mental) Trigger A living creature approaches within 10 feet of the remains of a previous feast; Effect Invisible attackers begin to bite and gnaw at the triggering creature and any other creatures within 30 feet. The creatures take 10d6 slashing damage from the biting (DC 36 basic Reflex save), and then the nightmare rolls initiative.
Routine (1 action) The nightmare transitions from directly chewing on the creatures in the area to compelling them to feed for themselves. Each round on the nightmare’s turn, all creatures within 30 feet of the nightmare’s epicenter must attempt a DC 36 Will save with the following results.
Critical Success The creature is unaffected.
Success The nightmare causes a momentary change to the creature’s appearance, causing its jaws to take on a frightening, fanged appearance and filling the creature’s mind with distracting, unsettling hunger that cause them to become off-guard until the start of the nightmare feast’s next turn.
Failure The creature becomes confused until the start of the nightmare feast’s next turn and gains a +30 bite (magical) that deals 3d12+10 slashing damage plus 2d6 persistent bleed damage on a hit. The creature favors this bite Strike when the confusion drives them to attack.
Critical Failure As failure, but the creature also becomes quickened and can use the extra action to make bite Strikes.
Reset The nightmare deactivates as soon as a round begins with no creatures in its area, and resets in 1d6 rounds.
