The delicate setting in this metallic bracelet holds a dazzling, multifaceted gemstone that absorbs and channels ambient light into powerful protective barriers.

Activate—Hardlight Barrier [one-action] Requirements You’re in an area of dim or bright light and aren’t holding a shield; Effect A hardlight shield the size and shape of a buckler springs from the gemstone, with the effects of the Raise a Shield action. The shield is weightless, doesn’t require a hand to use, and has 24 HP, Hardness 6, and BT 12. While the shield is raised, you gain a +1 circumstance bonus to AC and can use the Shield Block reaction to reduce the damage from any attack, spell, or magical effect, but it retracts at the beginning of your next turn unless you spend an action to Sustain it. Whenever the barrier’s HP are below its BT, it automatically regains 3 HP every round until it’s no longer broken, but it can’t regain HP through any other means, nor can it benefit from runes, talismans, or other enhancements. If the shield is destroyed, the gemstone cracks, rendering the bracelet unusable for 24 hours.

The shield has 40 HP, Hardness 10, and BT 20, and regains 5 HP per round while broken. The first time each day the shield is destroyed, the gemstone remains undamaged, and the shield can be resummoned after 3 rounds with full HP.

Hardlight Buckler (Major)Item 16

Price 8,500 gp
The shield has 56 HP, Hardness 14, and BT 28, and regains 7 HP per round while broken. If destroyed, it can always be resummoned after 3 rounds with full HP. When the shield is destroyed, you’re surrounded by an aura of photonic particles while it regenerates, granting you a +2 status bonus to Reflex saves and resistance 8 to force damage for 3 rounds.
