PFS StandardLiving Nexus Dedication Feat 2

Uncommon Archetype Dedication
Source Impossible Magic pg. 96
Archetype Living Nexus
Prerequisites trained in martial weapons; trained in Arcana; trained in Nature; trained in Occultism, or Religion

Whether through happenstance or hours of rigorous training, you have discovered within yourself the ability to breathe in the magic around you.

You have an invisible, internal nexus of energy and have learned how to control your absorption of others’ magical energy and store it in this internal nexus. You gain the Absorb Magic reaction and the Overflowing Blade action. The DC for an ability gained via this archetype is either your class DC or spell DC, whichever is higher, and is called your nexus DC.

Absorb Magic [reaction] (concentrate, magical) Requirements You are not overflowing; Trigger Another creature within 30 feet Casts a Spell or uses an action, activity, or reaction with the arcane, divine, magical, occult, or primal trait; Effect You breathe in a small fraction of the magic produced by the triggering effect, storing it in your internal nexus. You become overflowing. You remain overflowing for up to 1 minute before the stored magical energy fades. While overflowing, you gain a +1 status bonus to saving throws against effects with the arcane, divine, magical, occult, and primal traits. This bonus becomes +2 at 15th level.

Overflowing Blade [one-action] (concentrate, force, magical) Requirements You are overflowing; Effect You conduct the magic in your internal nexus to coat your weapon or unarmed strike, empowering it with magical energy for a devastating attack. Make a melee Strike. If the Strike hits, you deal an additional 1d4 force damage. At 10th level, the additional damage increases to 2d4 force damage. At 18th level, the additional damage increases to 3d4 force damage. You are no longer overflowing.

Traits

Uncommon:

Something of uncommon rarity requires special training or comes from a particular culture or part of the world. Some character choices give access to uncommon options, and the GM can choose to allow access for anyone. Less is known about uncommon creatures than common creatures. They typically can't be summoned. The DC of Recall Knowledge checks related to these creature is increased by 2.

Archetype:

This feat belongs to an archetype.

Dedication:

Each archetype’s dedication feat represents your character’s dedicated effort learning a new set of abilities, making it impossible to split your focus and pursue another archetype at the same time. Once you take a dedication feat, you can’t select a different dedication feat until you complete your dedication by taking two other feats from your current archetype. You can’t retrain a dedication feat as long as you have any other feats from that archetype.
