Sangoi

With their nocturnal habits, taste for blood, and proclivity for haunting towns and graveyards in the dead of night, it’s unsurprising that sangois are often mistaken for vampires. These smaller fey hunt by following the sounds of their victims’ hearts, preferring humanoid victims but settling for animal blood if necessary. They wear roughly cut animal hides to stay warm and are often mistaken for prowling coyotes or wildcats when glimpsed from a window on a cold, misty night.

Curse of Misery (curse, emotion, mental, primal) A creature hit by a sangoi's claws Strike must succeed at a DC 24 Will save or become cursed for 1 minute. This curse imparts a –1 status penalty to a victim's AC and saving throws against the sangoi who cursed them. In addition, when a cursed victim attempts the flat check to recover from any persistent bleed damage, they must roll twice and take the worse result; this is a misfortune effect.Sneak Attack The sangoi deals an additional 2d6 precision damage to off-guard creatures.Vicious Draught [two-actions] (occult) Requirements A creature within the sangoi's reach is taking persistent bleed damage; Effect The sangoi latches onto the creature's open wound, drinking their blood. They attempt a jaws Strike against the target; if the target is willing, the Strike automatically hits. If the Strike hits, the persistent bleed condition ends, the target is drained 1, and the sangoi regains Hit Points equal to the target's level, gaining any excess HP as temporary HP. Taking a Vicious Draught from a creature that's already drained doesn't restore any HP to the sangoi but increases the victim's drained value by 1 (to a maximum of drained 4). If the sangoi is in a Blood Rage and the jaws Strike reduces the target to 0 HP, the victim must attempt a DC 24 Fortitude save. On a failure, the sangoi tears out the target's heart and devours it, killing it instantly. This is a death effect.

Sidebar - Additional Lore Rap-Tap-Tap

When they visit the Universe, sangois prefer to travel through regions with long, dark winters. Mortals in these areas are often warned to beware any sounds they might hear at their windows in the dead of night, as sangois attempt to lure prey away from the safety of their homes by tapping unnaturally long fingers and nails against the glass from just out of sight below the sill.
