Seilenos

Old and well-traveled, a seilenos has seen many things in their existence. They remember when the First World was the only world. They've seen empires come and go, godlings rise and fall. With the legs, ears, and tail of a horse, gnarled beard, and skin as weathered as old oak, many mortals mistake depictions of seilenoi for arboreals or green men.

A seilenos might act as mercurial judge, fun-loving master of ceremonies, or ruthless bandit leader. Never-before-seen spectacles of beauty, music, and art compel a seilenos's attention, and they have ways of inspiring those they meet to follow their creative pursuits to the extreme. Most seilenoi view the idea of combat as amusing, but should they become roused to anger, their power is terrifying.

The seilenos Casts charm, fear, sleep, or suggestion, expending the spell normally. A spell cast this way gains the auditory trait and targets all creatures in a 60-foot emanation instead of its usual targets. A creature that succeeds at its Will save against any spell cast this way becomes temporarily immune to all spells cast with Strum the Lyre for 1 minute.

Sidebar - Locations Wandering Sages

Solitary seilenos unaffiliated with a particular troupe often wander the planes, seeking the novel or unique. In their wanderings, they can win over almost anyone with their stories. They occasionally tutor mortals with exceptional talent, often while disguised by illusion to avoid undue attention. Rarely, an especially cruel traveling seilenos causes mysterious disasters, dancing until those around them fall dead from exhaustion.
