Ujdavipr

Ujdaviprs serve as spies and messengers for powerful fey creatures, be they nymph queens, norns, or even one of the Eldest. They travel throughout the First World and to planes beyond, collecting important information or spying on dangerous creatures for their masters. During feuds and squabbles between powerful fey, ujdaviprs also scout and deliver messages on their leader's behalf.

An ujdavipr's true form is a humanoid with slit pupils, fangs resembling those of a snake, and reptilian scales of any color. Ujdaviprs are capable of shape-shifting into a snake, a scaled flying squirrel, or a hybrid form with qualities of both, as demanded by their mission. Most ujdaviprs wear hooded cloaks to keep their physical features hidden.

Change Shape [one-action] (concentrate, occult, polymorph) The ujdavipr takes on the appearance of a Small or Medium humanoid, snake, squirrel, giant flying squirrel, or a hybrid with both snake and squirrel parts. They can also assume their scout form: a Medium, snake-headed humanoid in hide armor. The ujdavipr can only use their jaws attack when in a form with a snake’s mouth, their claw attack in a form with squirrel qualities, and their weapons in a humanoid form. They can only use their Glide ability in a form with squirrel qualities.Erase Corpse (primal) If the ujdavipr kills a humanoid with a jaws or claw Strike, their touch erases notable features from their victim, making it difficult to identify the corpse. An erased corpse lacks obvious facial features and loses its hair, resembling a mannequin. A creature attempting to identify an erased corpse must succeed at a DC 32 Perception check to notice enough details to recognize the victim. In addition, a caster attempting to cast talking corpse on an erased corpse must first succeed at a DC 32 Occultism or Religion check or the spell fails.Glide [one-action] The ujdavipr glides through the air, moving up to 60 feet horizontally and descending an equal distance. If they’re still in the air and take an action other than Gliding or end their turn, they fall.

Sidebar - Additional Lore Tools Of A Spy

Every ujdavipr produces a special venom that makes it difficult for a victim to tell a lie. Ujdaviprs deliver this venom with coated weapons or a simple bite, learning their targets' deepest secrets. An ujdavipr can also erase the details of a victim's appearance, making it much more difficult for an enemy to know if one of their own has perished and whether they spread information.
