Dajermube (Holder of Unquenchable Light)Source Divine Mysteries pg. 136Dajermube was once a mortal woman who led the rebellion against Mzali’s Council of Mwanyisa when they tried to wipe out the worship of the Old Sun Gods. She was a descendant of the god
Chohar, and divine power flowed through her veins. To help her people protect the knowledge of those deities, she attempted to ascend to godhood in the Temple of the Eclipse. Her ritual was interrupted as it reached its climax, and she was struck down by a crossbow bolt before the transformation was completed. As a result, she spent tormented centuries trapped between life and death until heroes freed the Temple of the Eclipse and enabled her apotheosis to resume.
In the light, Dajermube looks like a tall, broad-shouldered, dark-skinned Mwangi woman with an unrestrained mane of sun-streaked curly hair and the shadow of a sleek lioness. When parts of her body are cast in shadow, they shift to resemble that same lioness. She represents the safety of hiding in the shadows from harm while also embodying the cleansing power of light. Her dual nature is reflected in her religious symbol: a moon eclipsing the sun. She often wears the loose robes of Old Mzali but sometimes dons the armor of the Bright Lions, who were instrumental in freeing her from her half-dead and half-divine state, and who form the core of her following.
Having just recently attained godhood and only through assistance, she encourages her followers to help others attain their goals, while also not becoming so selfless that they ignore their own ambitions. This also means she takes it personally when her followers intentionally keep someone from achieving a goal that could be considered honorable. Dying seconds from achieving godhood and then stuck in a kind of limbo for millennia could have left her bitter and vengeful, but instead infused her with the drive to make sure no one else suffers needlessly.
Dajermube also encourages her followers to use all their available resources, as sometimes the best tool for a job is not the one you are most comfortable with. Similarly, she pushes her followers to forge their own path rather than following the well-trod ones. The journey is more important than the destination to her, and she values attempting a new effort more than the repetition of a great undertaking.
Dajermube enforces the safety of the shadows, as opposed to those who use them to hide malicious deeds. The dark is where animals and people hide from danger, knowing they will be unseen by most.
Her followers are forbidden from using darkness to harm the innocent. She is the patron of hidden passageways to freedom and secluded dens that can shelter cubs.
As the newest of the Sun Gods, Dajermube is still learning the limits of her powers. That being said, her followers have been extraordinarily creative in developing new spells and recovering lost ones from her original time. Before the Temple of the Eclipse was lost, Dajermube was known for her ability to manipulate light and shadow and is teaching her worshippers those skills now. Her primary goal at the moment is to overthrow the god-king Walkena and return the throne to the people of Mzali.
