Chinostes (Redeemer)Source Myth-Speakers Players Guide pg. 11 Raised a saddle-maker, Chinostes didn't seek divinity; it found him when he took up his tack knife in defense of his homeland, using it to dispatch a warlord. After becoming a hero-god, he continued to protect Reanpharos from all evils. However, one of the evils—a vampire—bested him, condemning him to undeath. Even though he's a vampire, Chinostes remains a folk-hero at heart, stalking the rooftops to hunt any other terrors that rule the night (and occasionally feeding on an unsuspecting citizen).
His cult has split. The Nightwardens worship Chinostes as a pragmatically violent folk-hero. The Redeemers mourn and revere Chinostes as a prisoner in his undead body, believing the greatest service they can perform is driving a stake through their patron's heart. The two factions clash frequently over the correct interpretation, which isn't aided by Chinostes continuing to grant spells to both.
