Dramindyr (The Skin of Creation)Source Divine Mysteries pg. 314The Universe as it currently exists depends on strict boundaries, the separation of reality into distinct matter instead of primordial chaos. The planes are likewise divided from each other by metaphysical borders, pierced by only portals and planar rifts. Dramindyr, the Skin of Creation, is the first arbitrator who forms these perimeters; their very body is the membrane that holds every plant, animal, mineral, and dimension separate from one another. To cross between planes is to walk along Dramindyr’s spine, and to rip holes in the planar fabric is to pierce Dramindyr’s infinite coils. Indeed, the presence of the Worldwound on Golarion was an open sore on Dramindyr’s side for over a century, and its closure may have caused Dramindyr to return more of their attention to their rare adherents upon Golarion.
As most mortals maintain their own physical integrity simply by existing—outside of an extremely messy death—Dramindyr mostly tasks mortals with maintaining planar boundaries. The encroachment of planes upon other planes is to be discouraged outside of sanctioned portals, a task in which many other divinities aid Dramindyr. Dramindyr also appears to frown upon the use of summoning magic to draw creatures from other planes; the arbitrator is unlikely to act against a singular being connected to a spellcaster, such as a familiar or eidolon, but strongly opposes the likes of genie binders or
devil summoners. This position is much less supported by people among the Inner Sea, though Dramindyr’s worshippers are rare enough that this has never risen to an official political issue.
The most extreme agents of chaos, such as
protean lords or certain
fiends, occasionally make attempts to destroy Dramindyr to weaken their rigid control over individuals and matter. While it is unlikely that Dramindyr’s destruction would cause the complete collapse of reality into seething chaos, such an event would likely be apocalyptic in its scope. For this reason, Dramindyr has no shortage of defenders, as even the most wicked of devils has little desire to be rendered into primordial soup.
