Aesocar (The Healing Touch)

Aesocar, the Healing Touch, was the Azlanti god of creation, health and medicine. His clerics were some of the first who practiced the art of melding faith with science. Aesocar taught that while some ailments could be cured through divine means, his followers should also learn all they could about medicine and ways to heal not only humanity, but all in need. His clerics were among the first to master the art of prosthetics and creating life from nothing.

The teachings of Aesocar are the foundations for a significant portion of modern medicine in Golarion. Followers always seek first to do no harm, preferring defensive and protective tactics rather than aggression in battle. They believe in the ethical treatment of prisoners, offering healing and aid to any who peacefully surrender. Aesocar values education and the sharing of knowledge. He charges his followers to continuously expand their knowledge and take risks to further scientific discoveries. Followers do not shy away from controversial experiments if the outcomes would benefit the greater good.

While not as hands-on as he was during the time of Azlant, temples to Aesocar are still found across Golarion. Due to the minimized presence of Aesocar’s faith, his modern priests and clerics are more inclined to travel, not only to spread the word of Aesocar’s teachings to new and remote locations, but also to help educate those with less access to scholarly temples. Aesocar’s followers tend to be patient and generally caring individuals.
