Of course, the deities of Fortune’s Fate are still whimsical and aren’t above reaching out to tweak a worshipper’s fortune at just the right moment. This often is a subtle as tweaking the shuffle of a deck of cards or a momentary breeze that catches the corner of a die; these gods never go so far as to actually cheat (at least not in a way that would get a devotee caught!). Sometimes, they will even place bets among each other over the outcome of an individual’s audacious scheme, though none among them ever really hopes that the person will outright fail.
