Amaznen (The Father of Invention)Source Divine Mysteries pg. 300Amaznen, the Father of Invention, was the Azlanti god of invention, magic and secret knowledge. Like Aesocar, he taught his followers to utilize both divine power and the power of science and technology. Amaznen focused more on inventing constructs to ease the burden of daily life, rather than the science of healing. The Father of Invention is most remembered for the role he played during the events of Earthfall. After his lover, Acavna, lost her life attempting to subvert the meteor, Amaznen absorbed the remaining magic of the incoming debris. It is unclear whether he died, or simply disappeared from existence after Acavna’s death.
Amaznen’s teachings praised creativity and out of the box thinking. He encouraged followers to not solely rely on divine magic, but to create new tools or invent new ways of using old things. He looked down upon those who throw things away that could be repurposed and those who claim others’ ideas as their own.
Whether Amaznen remains or not, his followers, teachings, and principles have persisted across Golarion. Larger temples can often be found in cities where technology and scholarly pursuits thrive. His priests and clerics are not prone to extensive travel as many prefer to remain close to their carefully curated workshops. One might take up a life of adventure to find answers to troubling problems, however, or to gather materials for a new invention. Often quiet and introverted, his followers are guarded with information, believing that not all knowledge is meant to be widely shared.
