Lissala (The Order of Virtue)Source Divine Mysteries pg. 300Lissala, the Order of Virtue, has changed drastically from the times of ancient Azlant. Her teachings created the foundation of the Seven Virtues of Rule, later adopted by the realm of Thassilon. While those seven virtues held aspects of charity, humility, and love, Lissala encouraged her followers to focus more prominently on teachings of duty and strict adherence to her guidelines. She believed, and taught, that those who followed her teachings would be greatly rewarded.
Followers of Lissala were encouraged to openly share knowledge and never keep secrets. Their ideology was based on the idea that knowledge is free, and it was their duty to share it as widely as possible. Often staunch rule followers, those who served The Order of Virtue found little gray in a world of absolutes. Those who took to a life of adventuring generally did so at the behest of another leader. They found comfort in being led and following someone with a strict sense of duty and structure.
These ideals were often misunderstood in the time of ancient Azlant, and many of Lissala’s teachings were twisted and corrupted as her message spread beyond Azlant and Thassilon. Eventually, she embraced the corruption herself. In modern worship, her true followers are few and she is rumored to have died. Rune giants refuse to accept this rumor and still worship her.
