Atropos (The Judge of Judges)Source Divine Mysteries pg. 314Atropos, known among the
psychopomp ushers as the Judge of Judges and the Last Sister, is
Pharasma’s youngest (and perhaps only) daughter, ruling over the Boneyard alongside her mother as the penultimate arbiter of mortal fates. The psychopomp manifests as a large
nosoi with a shimmering, silver mask and a long tail of vivid peacock feathers, each bearing a living mortal eye: one feather with one eye for every soul past, present, and future to receive her judgment. When appearing in mortal guise, Atropos instead takes the form of a young
human girl, and she often favors this form during appearances in her mother’s court.
The psychopomps whisper that Pharasma is training Atropos to be her successor, and the nosoi will inherit the rule of the Boneyard and the role of final judge of mortal souls in the times beyond the end, when this universe has died and is reborn anew. Until the day of the end comes, Atropos presides over mortal sleep instead of true death, and she cares for the souls of those who die as children, safeguarding their afterlives. She is worshipped by some nosoi, and her mortal cults include soothsayers and those with troubled sleep and chronic illnesses.
