Thremyr (The First Jarl)Source Divine Mysteries pg. 310Thremyr is a mountainous, ancient being with a long, full beard and hair of salt, a stout body of frigid ice, and a set of chilling blue gems for eyes. The earliest available records of the god tell the tale of his awakening during Earthfall as the meteorite landed on
Golarion, tearing open the Inner Sea. Anything prior to that is currently undocumented or lost as a result of this cataclysmic event.
The First Jarl’s following is comprised almost entirely of frost giants. They claim that he is their unwitting creator, born of the glaciers and icebergs that sloughed off his body when he fell into the Steaming Sea. Initially, he saw these frost giants as small and unflattering mockeries of himself and chased them away. However, they eventually returned with tributes and praise for him. It was then that he finally decided to accept these frost giants as his own.
Though Thremyr is usually in a deep slumber, his followers go to great lengths to keep him happy, conducting raids on cities and villages to give the valuables they plunder to him as tributes. Altars and buildings used to store these ill-gotten gains are always distinctly marked with the image of a frozen blue gemstone. It’s well known and accepted by even his worshippers that he cares very little for them. It’s Thremyr’s love of treasures that keep them in his good graces, blessing those who consistently give great bounties with answered prayers and potent ancient magic.
