Shawnari (The One Out of Place)Source Divine Mysteries pg. 320The One Out of Place is an apt title for Shawnari, often forgotten even by the other sahkil tormentors. Little is known about Shawnari’s past, though it has been suggested that she abused her time as a
psychopomp by trapping souls in secret places where she could watch them wither in solitude. Her interest in isolation continues in her divine form, reigning quietly over loneliness and lost time.
Shawnari’s worshippers are commonly hermits and misanthropes who reject community in favor of solitude. There is little need for rituals or prayers—their loneliness is veneration enough. Shawnari’s followers can also be found in great cities where so many feel utterly alone. Desperately lonely creatures reach out for comfort and only find more emptiness in the tormentor’s arms. She teaches them to bury themselves in work or hobbies and lose all sense of the world, finding some facsimile of peace in time spent ignoring others.
Though content alone, Shawnari keeps careful watch of her foes and quietly times deadly strikes against them. She guides her followers to do the same, subtly maneuvering the enemies of other sahkil tormentors against them through anonymous tips and careful words.
